2: How Does Your Media Product Represent Particular Social Groups
My magazine represents the youth of today through the lingo/diction and the subject of written text, the clothes and the representation of similar artists. The similar artist to the cover star ‘Laura Turner is Jessie J.
These images are examples of star which I think ar similar to the model on my front cover. The magazines selling point is who is featured and by including an R&B singer it targets more rebels/chavs/outgoing teenagers/young adults especially through the specific diction such as 'hawt' 'merk' which only a certain group of people would understand the meaning. The magazine wouldn't appeal to indie/rock lovers because the tone of language, the artists featured - how they dress, the genre of music they sing and their attitude wouldn't appeal to them.
